The 2010 Summer Woodwind Camp will be held from July 26 through August 6, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The camp welcomes basson, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and french horn of all levels. We have three levels of instruction from beginners to advanced. Our age level begins at 5 years of age through 19 years old.
Camp Hours: 10:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. Students that need be dropped off earlier than 10:00, can get to camp as early as 8:30, and picked up as late as 4:30pm.
Most students attend both weeks, which cover different materials and the grande finale concert which is televised on Friday, August 6th, 2010
Fee for both weeks: 700.00 Room and board is an additional 325.00 per week
Students are also accepted for one week only.
Fee for one week: 400.00. Room and Board for one week is an addtional 325.00
Enroll with a friend for two weeks, and receive 25% discount.
For those students not in need of room and board, car pooling is avavilable from all areas of Maryland and Virginia.
The camp is an excellent learning experience as we believe in a very positive approach
toward our students. We emphasize sight reading, how to take and prepare for auditions. Our advanced ensembles perform at the grade 6 level of difficulty.
Last year, the camp boasted 100 students from the US and abroad.
Our teachers are graduate from the finest universities and most have their degrees in music education.
